What Happened:

Jimmy Vigil was just 14 years old when he was first abused at Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall in Downey, where a physician touched him inappropriately during an exam — and when he cried out, an officer subdued him and left him in handcuffs for hours. After being transferred to another LA County juvenile detention facility, the abuse continued: guards deliberately instigated fights between boys and then used the chaos as cover to restrain and sexually assault them. Now in his 40s, Jimmy still has nightmares reliving what was done to him.
